Biomedical equipment technicians calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair medical equipment such as:

  • Patient Monitors: Blood Pressure, EKG, and Neonatal
  • Defibrillators
  • Wireless Telemetry
  • IV Pumps

What You Can Learn
The biomedical technology program's objective is to prepare graduates to demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in the use of biomedical equipment
  • Troubleshooting skills for biomedical equipment
  • Entry-level knowledge of computer technology including analog and digital electronics

Instruction is conducted in an interactive and "real world"/hands-on environment.

Core courses include a foundation in electricity and electronics and a focus on: medical terminology, biomedical instrumentation, medical equipment troubleshooting, and the integration of computer network technology with high-tech microcomputer-controlled medical equipment.
